Jesús Nolazco, Tutor Jesús of The Spanish Wey.

Jesús Nolazco doesn't teach textbook Spanish. He teaches the Spanish you'd hear at a taco stand in Mexico, where he was born and still lives. His tagline is "Español que SÍ necesitas." Spanish you actually need.

It works. He has more than eight years of teaching behind him, over 1,000 students around the world and a 5.0 rating on Preply from more than 100 reviews, as listed on his site. About 80,000 people follow him on TikTok and 30,000 on Instagram.

A year ago, every class still ran through him by hand. This fall, he more than doubled his students and made over $1,500 in his first month on a new setup. We asked him how. His answers are his own words, lightly trimmed.

1. How it started

BOLDWRIGHT: Give us the short version. How did you end up doing this for a living?

JESÚS: I started teaching Spanish about eight years ago. At first, I simply realized that I really enjoyed teaching and connecting with people from different parts of the world, but over time it became something much more serious. I realized I could develop my own teaching style, build a community, and eventually turn it into my own business.

BOLDWRIGHT: And that became The Spanish Wey.

JESÚS: Así nació The Spanish Wey. That's how it started.

2. The moment he lives for

BOLDWRIGHT: What part of the job do you love most?

JESÚS: Definitely seeing my students make progress. I love when someone who was initially afraid to speak starts having real conversations in Spanish and realizes they can actually communicate.

BOLDWRIGHT: That's not the content side, though. You make a lot of videos.

JESÚS: I also really enjoy creating content and finding simpler, more natural ways to explain the Spanish people actually use.

“I love when someone who was initially afraid to speak starts having real conversations in Spanish.”

3. Thirty lessons a week, all by hand

BOLDWRIGHT: Before we started working together, what was eating your time?

JESÚS: I think the biggest problem was that too many things depended on me manually. Scheduling lessons, collecting payments, following up with students, and repeatedly explaining how my lessons worked. At the same time, I was creating content and teaching around 30 lessons a week, so it was difficult to find time to actually grow the business.

BOLDWRIGHT: There are a hundred apps for that. Why not just buy one?

JESÚS: I could find different tools to solve individual parts of the problem, but I didn't want to end up using five different apps and trying to connect everything myself. With Boldwright, I felt like I could explain how my business worked and what I wanted to achieve, and you could build something around that.

4. What it was like working together

BOLDWRIGHT: Be honest. Anything surprise you, good or bad?

JESÚS: One thing that surprised me in a good way was that you didn't just do exactly what I asked for. A lot of the time, Thor would notice an opportunity or a problem I hadn't even considered and suggest a solution. It feels more like having someone thinking about the business with me than simply hiring someone to build a website.

5. What changed

BOLDWRIGHT: What does a normal day look like now?

JESÚS: A student can find me on social media, go to my website, purchase a package, and book lessons without me having to be involved in every step. The system also keeps track of their lessons and automatically sends reminders. I can focus much more on teaching and creating content.

BOLDWRIGHT: What do your students say about it?

JESÚS: It's much easier for students now to purchase lessons and book directly based on my availability. I also think having a professional website and system creates much more trust than simply sending a PayPal link and organizing everything through messages.

BOLDWRIGHT: And the business itself?

JESÚS: The business now feels much more like an actual business instead of just me teaching lessons. Since we started working together, I've more than doubled my client base and generated over $1,500 USD in the first month.

“The business now feels much more like an actual business instead of just me teaching lessons.”

6. What's next for The Spanish Wey

BOLDWRIGHT: What are you doing with the time you got back?

JESÚS: I'm mainly using that time to create content, prepare better materials for my students, and think about new products for The Spanish Wey.

BOLDWRIGHT: Such as?

JESÚS: The next step is to make The Spanish Wey much more than one-on-one lessons. I want to develop courses, digital resources, and a platform where my students can practice Spanish outside of class.

The first piece is already live: 7 Días de Español Real, a free seven-day plan of real expressions you can use this week.

BOLDWRIGHT: Last one. A friend who owns a small business asks about us. What do you say?

JESÚS: If they have a good business but feel like they're spending too much time doing everything manually, it's definitely worth talking to Boldwright. What I've liked most is that I didn't get a generic solution. They built something specifically around how my business works.

We asked Jesús for the one line he'd want you to remember. He gave it to us in Spanish first: "Boldwright me ayudó a pasar de simplemente dar clases a construir un negocio que puede crecer sin que yo tenga que hacer todo manualmente." In English: "Boldwright helped me go from simply teaching lessons to building a business that can grow without me having to do everything manually."

How we checked this: Jesús answered our questions in writing on September 28, 2026, in Spanish and English. Answers are his English wording, shortened in places, and a few interviewer lines were added to break up longer answers. The client and revenue figures are his own. Years teaching, student count, Preply rating, follower counts and prices are as listed on thespanishwey.com, October 23, 2026. Photos: Jesús's own photo and screenshots of his site.
