Text every no-show a link to rebook
A friendly message goes out after a missed appointment, with your booking link, so the empty chair turns into a new booking instead of a lost client.

If you came here from the reel, thanks for watching. A no-show usually isn't a client who's done with you. They forgot, something came up, and now they feel awkward about it. If nobody reaches out, the awkward part wins and they quietly book somewhere else.
One short, friendly text with your booking link fixes most of that. Below is exactly how to set it up in the app you already use, what to do if your app can't send it on its own, and the text itself, ready to copy.
Rather we set it up for you?
This is part of the Boldwright starter package. We set up the no-show text, reminders and your booking link, from your number, in your words, in a week or less.
Have Boldwright set it up$297 setup, then $70 a month once you've seen it work. No contract. Cancel by text.
Step 1
Before you start
Tick these off first. Every one of them is something the setup below depends on, and most people already have them.
- A booking link. The page where clients book themselves. Every app below has one, usually under Online Booking. If you don't have an app, see No booking app yet.
- Mobile numbers on your client records. The text can only go to clients with a mobile number saved. Spot-check five of your regulars.
- Clients who agreed to get texts. Most apps ask for this when the client books. Keep this text about their appointment, not a promotion or a discount. Appointment texts sit under a lighter consent rule than marketing texts.
- Texting turned on in your app. Some apps need a one-time step (Acuity has a verification step, Boulevard needs a dedicated number). It's called out in your app's section below.
- A no-show policy you're comfortable with. If you charge a no-show fee or keep a deposit, say so kindly in the text. If you don't, leave it out.
Step 2
Write your no-show text
Put your details in once and the texts fill in. Nothing here leaves your phone. Use the first one for a first miss, and the second one for someone who has missed more than once.
No guilt, no fee talk. Most first misses are a forgotten reminder, and a warm text gets them back on the calendar.
Firm and friendly. Pair it with the card-on-file setting in your app so the policy is real.
Keep it under 160 characters if you can. One text segment is cheaper on apps that charge per text, and short reads as personal.
Step 3
Set it up in your booking app
Pick your app. Built in means the app sends the text for you once you mark the no-show. Partly built in means you get a message box each time. Not built in means a two-minute manual routine, and that's the part we automate for clients.
FreshaBuilt in
Any Fresha plan. Emails are free. Texts and WhatsApp messages use your monthly messaging balance.
- On desktop, go to Marketing, then Automations. On the phone app it's More (the grid icon), then Marketing, then Automations.
- Find the automated message called Did not show up and open it.
- Click Enable. Under Actions you can edit the email wording. Paste in your no-show text from Step 2.
- Under Send a message, use Actions to check that Text message is on. Click Save at the top right.
- From now on, when a client misses: open the appointment, click Appointment status at the top right, choose No-show, leave the option to notify the client on, and click Set as no-show.
Fresha's text version uses a standard format you can't edit. Your own wording goes in the email. Put your booking link in the email so it's one tap away.
To top up texts: Settings, Billing, Communication balance, Text and WhatsApp notifications, Actions, Top-up.

VagaroPartly built in
Included for every Vagaro business. Texts go out from Vagaro's short code, so you don't need the separate Text Messaging plan for this.
- When a client misses, open Calendar and click their appointment.
- Click Change Status, then No-Show.
- In the window that opens, paste your no-show text from Step 2 into Message to Customer, booking link included.
- Make sure Notify Customer is on. Vagaro sends your message by email, text and app notification.
- Click No-Show Appointment, or Charge Fee if you're charging one. It works the same in the Vagaro Pro app.
Vagaro has no saved template for this box, so you paste it each time. Save the text as a phone shortcut (see Common snags) and it's two taps.
You can't turn Notify Customer off if you charge a fee, and you can't charge a no-show fee if the client prepaid or left a deposit.

MangomintBuilt in
The Flows app turned on. Each Flow text uses marketing credits (about 10 per text), and texts only reach clients who allow appointment messages.
- Open the Flows app and click New Flow.
- Pick the trigger Appointment canceled. Mangomint counts no-shows as a cancellation for this trigger.
- Add a Send text message step and paste your no-show text from Step 2.
- Replace the booking link with the Online booking link merge tag so every client gets the right link.
- Click Activate.
This trigger also fires on ordinary cancellations. Word the text so it reads fine for both: "Sorry we missed you, grab a new time here" works either way.

Square AppointmentsPartly built in
Works on the Free plan. Holding a card for no-show fees needs Plus or Premium.
- In your Square Dashboard, go to Appointments, then Settings, then History.
- Choose the missed appointment, click More, then Mark As No-Show.
- Square asks Choose how to notify your client. Pick text or email and confirm.
- Square's notice doesn't have a booking-link field, so follow it with your no-show text from Step 2, sent from your phone or Square's messages.
Want the policy to have teeth? Appointments, Settings, Payments & cancellations, then turn on Hold card in case of no-show with a flat fee or a percentage.

BooksyNot built in
Any Booksy plan. Booksy's help center has no automatic no-show text, so this is the manual routine.
- When a client misses, open the booking on your Calendar.
- Use the option to message the client from that booking.
- Paste your no-show text from Step 2 and send.
Booksy's automated Invite for another visit campaign sends your booking link 3 weeks after a visit if the client hasn't rebooked. It isn't a no-show trigger, but it catches people who slip. Find it under Marketing, Text and Email Marketing.
No-show fees and deposits: Business Settings, Payments & Checkout, No-Show Protection.
Checked against Booksy help docs, October 2026.
GlossGeniusNot built in
Any plan. GlossGenius has no automatic no-show text, so this is the manual routine.
- On your phone, tap the appointment, then More actions, then Mark as No-Show (with or without a fee). On the web, click the appointment and use the three dots. You can only do this on the day or later.
- Send your no-show text from Step 2 from your phone, or as a one-off text from GlossGenius.
The built-in Rebooking Reminder (Gold and Platinum) only fires after a checkout, so it won't reach a no-show.
Checked against GlossGenius help docs, October 2026.
Acuity SchedulingNot built in
Acuity only sends reminder texts, one per appointment, and can't send other texts. This is the manual routine.
- Open Calendar, click the appointment, then Cancel.
- Tick Mark as no-show, then click Cancel Appointment. This also stops any follow-up emails for that visit.
- Send your no-show text from Step 2 from your phone, or as an email from Acuity.
Text reminders need the Standard or Premium plan and a one-time setup: Client Text Messages, Turn On, then the verification step. Good reminders mean fewer no-shows to begin with.
Checked against Acuity Scheduling help docs, October 2026.
BoulevardNot built in
Boulevard has no notification triggered by a no-show. This is the manual routine.
- Click the appointment, then the red X.
- Choose the reason Client did not show up, charge a fee if that's your policy, and click Cancel Appointment.
- Open Messages (or the Messages tab on the client's profile) and send your no-show text from Step 2.
The Reminder to Book automated campaign (Marketing, Automated campaigns) texts clients a booking link a set number of days after their last visit. Boulevard charges $2 per appointment a campaign brings in.

Your app is on the not-built-in list?
That's the gap we close. Boldwright's starter package connects to your booking app and sends the no-show text from your number the moment the appointment is marked, with your booking link, so you never paste it again.
Talk to Boldwright about the starter packageSet up in a week or less. $297 setup, then $70 a month once you've seen it work. No contract. Cancel by text.
If you need it
No booking app yet
You can do this for free with a Google account. It's a good start, and it covers the booking link the text needs.
- Make a booking page. In Google Calendar on a computer, click Create, then Appointment schedule. Set your hours and appointment length, then Save. Google gives you a link to share. That's your booking link.
- Save your no-show text as a shortcut on your phone (see Common snags), with that link in it.
- When someone misses, type the shortcut in your text thread with them and send.
The easier way: the Boldwright starter package gives you a booking page, reminders and the automatic no-show text, set up for you in a week or less. $297 setup, then $70 a month once you've seen it work.
Step 4
Check it worked
- Book a test appointment under your own name and your own mobile number.
- Mark it as a no-show the same way you would for a client.
- Within a few minutes you should get the text or email. Tap the booking link and make sure it opens your booking page, not your homepage.
- Read it on your phone. If anything reads stiff, change it now. It's the first thing a client sees from you after a miss.
If something's off
Common snags
The client never got the text
Check that their record has a mobile number and that they haven't replied STOP to your app's texts. In Fresha, check your messaging balance isn't empty.
The link opens my homepage, not booking
Copy the link straight from your app's Online Booking settings and paste that, not your website address.
How do I make the text one tap?
On iPhone go to Settings, General, Keyboard, Text Replacement, paste the text as the phrase and give it a shortcut like ;ns. On Android with Gboard it's Gboard settings, Dictionary, Personal dictionary. Type the shortcut in any message and the full text drops in.
Should I charge a no-show fee?
That's your call. If you do, say it in the text for repeat misses only, and turn on the card-on-file or deposit setting in your app so it's real. The first miss gets the friendly text.
Is it okay to text clients about this?
A text about their own appointment, sent through your booking app, is what clients expect when they book. Keep it about the appointment, with no discounts or promotions in it, and honor STOP replies. This isn't legal advice.
Rather it just happened on its own?
We're a small, new shop in Denver, and this is what we set up for people: the no-show text, reminders and rebooking going out on their own, from your number, in your words. You keep doing the work. We handle the rest.
